Bob Odenkirk’s Remake of The Room Gets Trailer



Oh, hi remake of The Room.

Following sold out screenings in Chicago and New York, The Room Returns, starring Bob Odenkirk, will make its Los Angeles premier on June 26th at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The all-volunteer charity Acting For a Cause will donate proceeds to amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, and Blue Collaborative, which supports independent artists. Tickets can be found here. In anticipation, the first trailer has been revealed and is streaming below.

Fan of the original have chattered about the The Room Returns in online forums for a couple years after Odenkirk and others confirmed the remake of the cult classic disaster of a movie was real in 2023.

The Room Returns reimagines its source material in front of a green screen. The new movie features Greg Sestero of the original The Room, Odenkirk, Bella Heathcote, Kate Siegel, and Brando Crawford, who also directs. The Room Returns is produced by Crawford and Jarad Schwartz with Mike Flanagan acting as executive producer. Alex Mansour composed the score. Odenkirk plays the film’s lead character Johnny.

The Room was released in 2003 and gained a cult following for its amateur filmmaking and incongruent, unintentionally hilarious story along with melodramatic, unpolished acting particularly of its mysterious star and creator Tommy Wiseau. The 2017 film The Disaster Artist told the story of Wiseau’s $6 million creation and troubles the production went through.

Odenkirk recently revived his character Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul t0 deliver a birthday message for America on its impending 250th anniversary.
