Prince William enjoyed a double celebration this weekend, as both his 44th birthday and Father’s Day fell on Sunday, June 21. To mark the occasion, His children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—along with his wife, Kate Middleton, sent him a heartfelt message on social media, writing “Happy birthday and Father’s Day to the best Papa in the World! We love you very much.” The missive was signed “C, G, C & L”
The family also took the opportunity to treat Instagram followers to an exclusive photo of Prince William and his daughter, Charlotte. The Prince is pictured in the bright red ceremonial uniform of the Irish Guards—a regiment of which he has been the honorary colonel since 2011—with his hand on his daughter’s shoulder. The moment was captured on Saturday, June 13, during Trooping the Colour, the military ceremony held to mark the monarch’s official birthday, which the royal family attends every year.
