I know it’s technically still the Bank Holiday here in the UK, but listen up because there’s some serious business you need to attend to. Namely, checking out the Met Gala 2026 red carpet.
Whether you’re an annual devotee or are still not entirely sure what it’s all about, there’s no denying that the Met Gala truly is the Oscars of the fashion world. So even if you skipped the whole of awards season at the start of the year – if you only pay attention to one red carpet in 2026 you’d be wise to choose this one.
After all, the event’s being co-chaired this year by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour. Casual, right? That’s already a 10/10 guest list when it comes to sartorial matters, and with the likes of Kim Kardashian, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Paloma Elsesser, Emma Chamberlain, Ashley Graham, Teyana Taylor and Zoë Kravitz all confirmed to be attending, we’d be lying if we said we wanted to be anywhere but the edge of our seats as we wait for the looks to flood in.
Of course, there’s always a theme for the Met Gala to gently steer guests’ sartorial choices – and this year that theme is “Costume Art,” with the dress code described as “Fashion Is Art”.
According to the exhibition’s curator Andrew Bolton, the 2026 Met Gala theme is inspired by “the centrality of the dressed body in the museum’s vast collection.” We’re already anticipating some very different interpretations…
