Another song from Taylor Swift’s “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” is on the way. In a video posted on July 27 to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Twitter, Johnson and Kevin Hart announced “Bad Blood (Taylor’s Version)” will premiere in their film “DC League of Super-Pets,” coming out on July 28. The movie will also feature “Message in a Bottle (Taylor’s Version),” which was a vault track on 2021’s “Red (Taylor’s Version).

Fans have been waiting anxiously for “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” ever since Swift announced she would be re-recording her albums. In the past two years, she has seemingly dropped dozens of Easter eggs hinting that the album would be coming soon, though she hasn’t announced an official release date. “Bad Blood (Taylor’s Version)” is the third song released from the album. Swift shared “Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)” in Sept. 2021 and said it was because the song was trending on TikTok. Then, in May 2022, she released “This Love (Taylor’s Version)” alongside the trailer for “The Summer I Turned Pretty” season one. The song also featured on the show’s soundtrack.

Swift released the original “1989” album in October 2014. It was her fifth studio album and marked her turn toward a more pop sound. She had three No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100: “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” and “Bad Blood.”

In June, Swift released a song unrelated to her re-recordings, “Carolina,” written for “Where the Crawdads Sing.”

“1989 (Taylor’s Version” Release Date

We still don’t have an official release date for “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” though, with the late July release of “Bad Blood (Taylor’s Version),” fans have speculated that the full album will be released in early August.

In June, Swift seemingly dropped more Easter eggs related to the album at the “Las Culturistas” Culture Awards, hosted by Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers. She recorded two acceptance speeches for the show, and in those videos, her home was full of items that seemed to reference the “1989” original era. However, fans are still awaiting the official word on the new music.
