2022 has given us some pretty great TV so far, and we’re only just getting started – because Netflix‘s latest star-studded series Anatomy of a Scandal is set to drop soon, and we predict it’ll be another smash.
The show is set to give us all the gritty British political drama we could hope for, since it’s set in Westminster and explores the skeletons of a UK MP and the influence of power and privilege (sound familiar?).
And if you’re already a fan of the best-selling book by Sarah Vaughan, you’ll no doubt be keen to find out how a famed cast including Sienna Miller and Michelle Dockery will tackle the story’s strong female characters.

What’s the plot of Anatomy of a Scandal?
Based on Sarah Vaughan’s novel, the story centres around a high-profile couple, Sophie and James Whitehouse – a British MP – who are rocked by accusations of an awful crime. Sophie is determined to keep her family together and maintain her husband’s innocence, as the case unfolds and the evidence mounts up.
The book examines the notion of consent, privilege and the legal system, with plenty of twists and turns – and no doubt these themes will be reflected in the screen adaption, too.
According to Netflix, the series will “infiltrate Britain’s elite through personal and political scandal, where the truth lies between justice and privilege”. Juicy.
Who stars in Anatomy of a Scandal?
It’s a roster of famous faces, including Sienna Miller as loyal wife Sophie, whose character develops into so much more throughout the series.
The actor previously told Harper’s Bazaar of the role: “I was a huge fan of the book and of my character Sophie. She is multi-faceted and facing the consequences of the decisions she has made in her life of privilege, which are catching up with her. I loved the arc and journey she embarks on and was thrilled to be part of such a talented cast and crew.”
