NECA Celebrates 40 Years of ‘Creepshow’ With New “Creep” Action Figure Based on the Movie!

Monster High, Mattel’s toy line depicting the daughters of classic monsters (including Frankie Stein, Draculaura and Clawdeen Wolf), is coming back to life with two new projects that were announced earlier this year. For starters, a live-action “Monster High” television movie-musical is in the works, along with a brand new animated series.

Both projects will be coming courtesy of Nickelodeon and Mattel, with the movie being written by Jenny Jaffe (“Big Hero 6”), Greg Erb and Jason Oremland (Princess and the Frog).

Deadline reports today that Miia Harris, Ceci Balagot, Nayah Damasen, Case Walker, Kyle Selig, Marci T. House, Scotch Ellis Loring, Steve Valentine, Jy Prishkulnik, Lina Lecompte, Justin Derickson, Lilah Fitzgerald and Nasiv Sall have been cast in the live-action TV movie.

Monster High follows Clawdeen Wolf (Harris), who was born half human and half werewolf, after she arrives at her new school, Monster High. She quickly makes friends with her classmates Frankie Stein (Balagot) and Draculaura (Damasen), and for the first time in her life, Clawdeen feels like she has finally found a place where she fits in and can truly be herself, despite keeping her human half a secret. When a devious plan to destroy Monster High threatens to reveal her real identity, Clawdeen must learn to embrace her true monster heart and find a way to save the day.”

Todd Holland is directing the movie, expect to premiere in 2022 on Nickelodeon.

Created by Garrett Sander, Kellee Riley and Glen Hanson, the Monster High toy line was launched by Mattel in 2010, and various animated projects have been released over the years.
