The best TV shows to binge-watch on Amazon Prime when you just need a cosy night of self-care

Amazon Prime Video has fast become the king of on-demand streaming services, with a vast array of exclusive series, award-winning original TV, and exciting movie content to feast your eyes on.

Many of us are searching for new TV shows to watch because the weather outside is – quite frankly – disgusting. But to save you 40+ minutes of mindless scrolling through the vast selection of shows on offer, we’ve rounded up the very best viewing picks available on the mega streaming platform.

There’s some of the most iconic TV series of all time – including the most-watched TV show in the world in 2008 (any guesses?) – and while some of them have over 10 seasons (looking at you, Grey’s Anatomy), now is the perfect time to nobly take on such a gargantuan viewing task and truly test your binge-watching endurance. Hey, someones got to do it.

If you’re looking for something a bit more contemporary; something you’ve probably never watched before, then Amazon Prime’s got you covered, too. Take Nine Perfect Strangers, Nicole Kidman‘s latest mini series full of high-stakes melodrama, unpredictable twists and turns, an A-list cast, and a gripping mystery that’ll keep you hooked. Oh, and you can expect some Big Little Lies-level property porn too!

Or if you want to sink your teeth into a gripping documentary investigating cooperate greed, then LulaRich is for you. Reminiscent of Netflix’s Fyre Festival exposé, the docuseries investigates the dark side of billion dollar clothing empire, LuLaRoe, as it stands accused of misleading thousands of women with their multi-level marketing platform.

Then there’s Schitt’s Creek star Annie Murphy’s brand sitcom, Kevin Can F** Himself. The show marks Annie’s first project since wrapping up the Emmy award-winning show and she’s back with a bang.

Set in Worcester, Massachusetts, Kevin Can F** Himself* follows Allison McRoberts, who is described as a quintessential housewife trapped in an unhappy marriage to husband Kevin, “an insensitive and unambitious man-child.” Things take a crazy turn as she tries to finally get out of her marriage and change her life once and for all.

Meanwhile, Upload is another popular pick on the streaming service. It’s a sci-fi comedy set in 2033 and created by Greg Daniels (of The Office and Parks and Recreation), where people can upload their consciousness into a digital afterlife before they die. We came for the Black Mirror-style premise, we stayed for an impossibly good looking Robbie Amell perpetually dressed in grey.
