Kimmel Roasts Trump for Tiny Desk Thanksgiving Day Tantrum

Jimmy Kimmel returned from the holiday weekend with some leftover zingers about President Donald Trump’s widely mocked appearance before reporters on Thanksgiving Day.

On Thursday, while seated behind a small desk in the White Houses Diplomatic Room, Trump spoke to reporters for the first time since his resounding election loss to President-Elect Joe Biden.

“Just so you understand, this election was a fraud,” Trump said, falsely, at one point. When a Reuters reporter asked if he would finally accept the election results, Trump lashed out. “Don’t talk to me that way. You’re just a lightweight,” he said. “Don’t talk to me—I’m the President of the United States, don’t ever talk to the president that way.”

“Don’t you dare speak to me the way I speak to everyone else,” Kimmel joked on Monday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. “Sitting in a little baby desk screaming, ‘You can’t talk to the president that way’—this is how I want to remember him.”

Flashing a photo of the aggrieved Trump seated at the very small desk, Kimmel observed, “It looks like he went back to visit his old elementary school.”

Thanksgiving is traditionally a time for reflection and gratitude—but Trump spent the holiday weekend lashing out about the election via Twitter, amplifying a number of false and discredited claims about voter fraud. “NO WAY WE LOST THIS ELECTION,” Trump tweeted on Sunday night.

“We might to have to file a restraining order against him,” Kimmel joked.

Also on Sunday, Trump gave his first post-election interview. “He called into the always-sycophantic Maria Bartiromo’s show to make a cornucopia of unchallenged false claims,” Kimmel told his audience.

“I was called by the biggest people, saying congratulations. Political people. ‘Congratulations, sir, you just won the election,’” Trump claimed. “It was 10 o’clock and you looked at the numbers—and I’m sure you felt that way—this election was over. Then they did dumps. They call them dumps. Big massive dumps. In Michigan, Pennsylvania, all over.”
