The Serious Sam games aren’t exactly known for their story. After all, the games are modelled after the FPS heydays of the 90s, where the games that didn’t exactly focus on things like the plot. Still, that’s not stopping Devolver Digital and Croteam, who have released a new trailer that focuses on the story for the upcoming Serious Sam 4, which releases later this week on September 24 for PC via Steam.
Humanity is under siege as the full force of Mental’s hordes spread across the world, ravaging what remains of a broken and beaten civilization. The last remaining resistance to the invasion is the Earth Defense Force led by Sam “Serious” Stone and his heavily-armed squad of misfit commandos.
