The Bachelorette: What We Know About Dale Moss’s Career With NFL & Special Olympics

Dale Moss from The Bachelorette is a modern-day Renaissance man who built an amazing career after an injury took him out of pro football. He’s stolen Clare Crawley’s heart, so fans want to learn more about his off-camera life. Screen Rant has the inside scoop.

Moss certainly looks good on paper: He was an NFL wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, until a shoulder injury sidelined his football career. He was a former basketball star at South Dakota State University, where he was recruited for both basketball and football on a full-ride scholarship. Currently, he’s a model represented by the famed Wilhelmina Models agency. He even comes equipped with entrepreneurial instincts that tick the boxes of many single ladies.

Refinery29 details more about the object of Clare Crawley’s desire. In 2014, Moss founded Moss Martin Media, a video production and creative agency. MMM works with top brands in the worlds of fashion, sports, fitness and lifestyle. Crawley may have been impressed by Moss’ giving side, as he helps others a lot. Moss is a budding philanthropist for the Tiger Woods Foundation and Wounded Warriors Project. Dale Moss is also a global ambassador for the Special Olympics. This organization is close to his heart as his older sister, Amber, has intellectual and physical disabilities. He told the Express’ The Edit that when his sister was five years of age, she woke up one morning unable to walk. It was then that the family discovered Amber suffered from a rare blood disease. As a young child, Amber was involved in the Special Olympics and that sparked Moss’ own work with the charity. His work as a global ambassador raises global awareness about the Special Olympics and how inclusive the organization is.

Specifically, he advocates for the the Special Olympics and champions many of its initiatives, including the Health Athletes program. This initiative provides global health screenings for people with intellectual disabilities. He’s also involved with the charity’s Unified Schools program, which helps Special Olympic athletes find quality jobs that enable them to enjoy fulfilling lives.

It’s clear that Moss is not a typical The Bachelorette contestant. Once his football career ended, he kept moving forward while keeping his family in the center of his heart. In his younger days, Moss was recruited to play for other universities, but he stayed close to his South Dakota roots after doctors diagnosed his mother with liver failure. Though his mother received a liver transplant that saved her life, Moss said that his mom’s brush with death reawakened his spirit. He realized that there is more to life and thinks that God has a plan for everyone. Clare Crawley seemed to recognize Moss’s many attributes early on. That explains why she risked her The Bachelorette season for him.

Some cynics may think that the abrupt mid-season departure of The Bachelorette’s Clare Crawley, due to near-instant amour with contestant Dale Moss seemed a wee bit desperate. However, this look at Dale’s career and charitable pursuits shows that there is a lot more to Dale Moss than green eyes and chiseled cheekbones.
