These Horror Fans Remade the Key Moments from ‘Alien’ With No Budget During the Quarantine [Video]

We’ve been loving how much creativity has come out of the quarantine these last several months, with many artists and filmmakers using the downtime to create art that probably never would’ve existed under regular conditions. On that note, a group of creative horror fans just put together a 5-minute, zero-budget remake of Ridley Scott’s Alien while stuck at home!

Described as a “low-budget, high-cardboard remake of Alien,” the video comes courtesy of YouTube channel Cardboard Movie Co, which specializes in this sort of thing. The channel, which had been inactive since its no-budget remakes of The Shining and Jurassic Park several years ago, uploaded Alien: Low-Budget Remake just last week, and it’s a total delight.

The team remade all the key moments from the 1979 classic, bringing to life everything from the bloody Chestburster scene to the final battle between Ellen Ripley and the Xenomorph, all of it brought to the screen using ordinary household objects and clever DIY techniques. Black balloons stand in for Alien eggs, for example, while the sets are largely made of cardboard.

Presenting Ridley Scott’s Alien… without a budget!
