Mica Levi Scores New Jonathan Glazer Short Film Strasbourg 1518

Mica Levi and Jonathan Glazer, the musician/filmmaker pairing behind the remarkable 2014 film Under the Skin, have rejoined forces for a new short film airing on the BBC. Strasbourg 1518, based on the bizarre “dancing plague” that infected hundreds in a French city, will premiere on July 20 on BBC Two at 10 p.m. UK time. It was commissioned by Artangel and London’s Sadler’s Wells dance company for BBC Arts’ “Culture in Quarantine” series.

Last year, Levi penned a spartan score for another eerie Glazer short, The Fall. Read about Under the Skin in Pitchfork’s rundown of the “50 Best Movie Scores of All Time,” and read our interview with Levi and Glazer.
