Alanis Morissette is opening up about her sexuality.
The 52-year-old “You Outta Know” singer came out as pansexual during the Tuesday (November 3) episode of the Handsome podcast co-hosted by Tig Notaro, Fortune Feimster, and Mae Martin.
Towards the end of the episode, Fortune said to Alanis, “I’m sorry for the men that hurt you, but I’m not sorry for the songs that came from it,” before asking, “Did it make you want to be a lesbian at any point?”
“I’m pansexual, so, yeah,” the seven-time Grammy winner answered.
Tig then interjected, “Wait, you’re not really pansexual, are you?”
“I am,” Alanis confirmed.
As the co-hosts joked that they should have started the podcast with that news, Alanis joked, “I like to leave it for the epilogue.”
Pansexuality refers to an individual’s capacity to be attracted to others regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.
If you didn’t know, Alanis has been married to husband hip-hop artist Mario Treadway, also known by his stage name Souleye, since 2010 and they share three kids – Ever, 15, Onyx, 10, and Winter, 7.
