Kilby Block Party has made a habit of turning Salt Lake City into a destination for adventurous music fans, and its 2027 edition promises another three-day gathering worth the trip. The festival returns to Utah State Fairpark May 14–16, with Deftones, the Strokes, Jungle, Fontaines D.C. and Slayyyter among the 70 artists announced for its eighth annual installment.
Also set to appear are Lil Yachty, Two Door Cinema Club (playing the 2010 album Tourist History), IDLES, Spoon, Weyes Blood, Phantogram, Hot Chip, Kurt Vile & the Violators, Kim Gordon, Julien Baker, Wednesday, Atlas Sound, Wolf Parade, Mercury Rev, Iceage, Westside Cowboy and Frankie & the Witch Fingers. A number of unidentified artists are teased with a series of question marks on the poster.
The festival’s reputation has grown alongside its lineup. Earlier this year, Lorde called Kilby Block Party “the absolute coolest festival ever,” while Salt Lake City Weekly described it as a “can’t-miss experience.” Organized by S&S Presents, Kilby has steadily evolved from a local celebration into a destination event for fans of independent music. The gathering began in 2019 as a one-day block party marking the 20th anniversary of Salt Lake City’s all-ages venue Kilby Court. This year’s festival drew more than 30,000 attendees per day, according to organizers.
There’s more to the weekend than the mainstage schedule. Alongside nightly aftershows at intimate venues around the city, attendees can explore Salt Lake City’s food and arts scenes, shop for records and local goods in Vendor Village, catch the annual Crusher Cup skateboarding competition or head to the silent disco. The festival also represents a significant economic event for Utah. Organizers say the 2026 edition brought nearly 16,000 out-of-state visitors to the region, generating an estimated $33.5 million contribution to the state’s gross domestic product, $3.3 million in state and local tax revenue and 419 jobs.
