The Ark explores whether clones are human, a debate you’ll find in many works of fiction.
Are people genetically engineered for something and built rather than born, really human, or are they a machine that has no rights?
While The Ark Season 3 Episode 10 doesn’t delve further into that debate — and it doesn’t have to, as Ark One’s stance is firm — it does offer an extremely human side to Sharon once more.

She is put through the wringer emotionally, and she’s not alone, as Ian and Kabir join her throughout the hour.
On top of that, Brice and Eva continue their uneasy relationship, but it comes with a sense of hope as Brice sees exactly what’s in front of him.
Sharon Feels All the Emotions
The Ark Season 3 Episode 10 opens with Kabir testing her cure for Gen 3 psychosis.
We didn’t think it would go perfectly fine at first, did we? This is an hour of our favorite, high-energy sci-fi series, so of course not.

If there’s one thing Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner can do, it’s pack an hour with twists, turns, emotions, and energy.
With the way the third season has worked out, it’s been hard to tell whether a resolution would come by the end of the hour.
I feared we might have to wait another episode for answers, so I was stoked to see closure in this week’s storyline.
Sharon experiences a multitude of human emotions.
She hopes the cure will work, feels relief when it does, fears a dangerous side effect, and feels desperate to solve the problem.

While she wants to keep her crew safe, she always wants to treat her clone, whom they name Jenny, with dignity and respect. It’s something that Jenny hasn’t had her entire existence.
Ian wants the same. He wants to help Jenny adjust to life on Ark One as she has no memory of her past life.

He wants to be supportive, but I love that he speaks out when he realizes that she’s interested in him romantically. He’s with Sharon, and he only has eyes for her.
Jenny may look the same, but she isn’t.
Ian and Sharon both know clones are their own people, and while Christie Burke raised concerns that they’re programmed to be together, it’s clear they also want to be together.

They’re choosing each other at crucial moments.
So, when Jenny turns Carrie and starts moving everything with her mind — of course, Trust wants that ability! — only Ian and Sharon were going to find a way to save the ship without harming Jenny.
Through it all, Kabir has the smarts to find a cure.
While Trust is often proud of himself for being the smartest person in the room, he couldn’t have done anything that Kabir did.
The Ark Season 3 has been her season to truly shine, doing something even her predecessor couldn’t manage.

She doesn’t just create the initial cure that turns the hour into an episode of Carrie; she also manages to fix it. She creates something that fully cures the clone.
That’s the moment we see relief and happiness in Sharon, because as Jenny wakes, she remembers who she is.
Now, I will say that I jerked up for a second hearing the name Alexandria — it’s not often I hear my own name on a TV show because it’s so uncommon — but I was pulled back in watching Sharon’s eyes light up with excitement and happiness.
She spent years with her sister, Denise. Losing her was like losing a part of herself.
Now she has another clone she can communicate with. While she had that with Jill, there’s an innocence to Alexandria that Jill can’t bring to the table.

Alexandria is likely to be more open, and maybe it will bring a sisterhood that Sharon has so desperately needed since before the series even started.
There’s also going to be a much bigger fight over the Drake storyline, which is only ever mentioned in passing. Sharon will now want to help all the other Gen 3s on his ship.
There’s Hope for Brice and Eva
The Ark Season 3 hasn’t been the same since Brice lost his memories of Eva, but there hasn’t been much time to focus on it.
A much bigger issue is threatening Homebase-1.

That volcano’s lava is getting closer, and the crew needs to figure out how to fix whatever the Cave People need fixed to save everyone.
The break from the main storyline with the clone was a nice reprieve. Having Brice and Eva invisible to the crew for the entire hour felt more like Season 1.
It was light and mysterious, and you knew this entire plot would be solved by the end.
The question was always how. Would they work out exactly what had happened to them, when they hadn’t initially seen that barrier?
More importantly, it gave Brice and Eva time to really see each other.

While there’s also a lot going on with the Cave People, figuring out the barrier (which happens to be a forcefield), and saving the planet, the two get a chance to just talk.
They only have each other, and it strips away so much noise.
As they start working the invisibility problem together, Brice starts to see Eva for who she is.
I’ve often wondered what would happen if I lost all my memories. Would parts of me still feel the same?
We’re created by our memories, but some reactions are fueled by emotions rather than thought.

Muscle memory is real, and you can see a hint of it throughout The Ark Season 3 Episode 10.
As Brice starts to see how brilliant Eva is, he sees what the version of him with memories saw in her.
No, memories don’t come flooding back, but he opens himself up to exploring what his body is telling him, what that muscle memory is telling him.
It’s human and raw, offering hope that we’ll see the two of them together, and that there will be no regrets if his memories do return.
