There are so many great things to say about The Traitors: New Blood, but the most important praise has to go to the casting team.
After The Traitors: New Blood Season 1 Episode 3 and The Traitors: New Blood Season 1 Episode 4, it’s obvious that this cast came to play.
They’re not going to beat around the bush. The round tables remind me of the intensity of The Traitors: Ireland, where people literally yell to get their point across, no matter if it makes them look like a villain.
We’ll start with the aftermath of Kate and Xavier’s fierce competition from The Traitors: New Blood premiere, as they try to get the Death Warrant and escape the murder.
Joe and Tomica’s decision to kill Xavier and recruit Kate wasn’t much of a surprise. Kate seems far easier to manipulate into uniting as Traitors.
Xavier would likely have caused holy hell in the Turret every night, so it’s obvious that Joe and Tomica viewed Kate as the path of least resistance.
What they didn’t anticipate was that Logan and some of the others had already been told by Xavier that Kate was acting shifty.
It’s a shame that Xavier did this the moment he realized she was his competitor to stay in the game, but he deserves mad props for thinking multiple steps ahead.
With a few more episodes, Xavier could have given us the vintage chaotic round tables the franchise is known for, but I’m not opposed to him going this soon.
Kate is a tricky one to watch because she constantly looks bewildered. You could ask her what she had for breakfast, and she’d overanalyze it to the point that she’s sweating and trying to find a way out of the conversation without answering the question.
The Traitors: New Blood Has a Stellar Cast
She’s fun, sure, but do I think she has the longevity if she continues trying to act too Faithful? Not a chance.
The amount of heat that was thrown her way during her first round table as a Traitor made me wonder if she would set the record for the shortest-serving Traitor.
Logan has mostly been observing Kate and slowly planting seeds of doubt with some of his most trusted cast members so that he can go after her when the time is right.
In order to get someone out of the game, you need to think about it rationally and examine when the best time is to strike.
Had Joe not leaped to Kate’s defense during the first round table of the evening, she would very likely have been gone.
Arisa’s banishment was a shame because she didn’t really get a chance to do much.
But her behavior was cause for concern, and with real evidence against her, there was no way back.
The most iconic part of her banishment was her walking out of the room and tilting her head to look at everyone who just voted for her as if she was saying, “Told ya so!”
There was so much more she could have done, but her behavior was too sketchy for this point in the game, and sadly, her time ended far too soon.
Since it came down to her and Victor, I’d have rather Arisa gone. Victor has great one-liners and isn’t afraid to tell people they’re dead wrong about him.
However, I’m starting to think most people voting for Arisa believe Victor is a Traitor and that taking him out this early is a bad idea.
Keeping someone you believe is a Traitor in the game for a long time is interesting because you can build a more evidence-dense case and pay attention to who is in their orbit.
I expected the Traitors to kill him just to throw some chaotic energy into the castle because everyone is so sure he’s the Traitor at this point.
I’m not sure that murdering Logan was the right move for The Traitors at this point of the game, either.
Joe and Tomica put so much stock into saving Kate at the last round table that going the Logan route only serves to blow up in Kate’s face.
Have Kate’s fellow Traitors already set up her demise? It sure sounds like it, but Joe needs to keep quiet this time at the round table.

If he goes guns blazing trying to defend her and she’s voted out as a Traitor, it’ll come back to haunt him when the others put it together.
Kate looks to be the most likely to be banished next, but then there’s Jay and Sherry.
Jay has been trying to act like a lone wolf on The Traitors: New Blood Season 1, and his admission about being a body language expert came out of left field.
It’s something he could have held on to until later in the game, so the fact that he brought it up when he caused so much chaos could send him home.
The Next Round Table Will be Fun
The only evidence anyone really has against Sherry is her claim that there were three Traitors.
It’s definitely something that people can run with, but, like, each season generally starts with two or three Traitors.
If people want to act like that isn’t the case, then that’s on them, but they’ll be left red-faced when Sherry struts out of that round table declaring she isn’t a Traitor.
One of the most surprising things about this double episode was how Kriste got off relatively unscathed for going so hard for Madeline.
If I were in that castle, I’d have been going after Kriste next because her behavior was straight-up bizarre.
It felt like her misstep was brushed under the rug far too quickly, and it makes me think it was all cut for time.
The Traitors: New Blood runs at a shorter runtime than its Peacock predecessor, and that could be why we’re not getting all of the events we would expect in one episode.
The issue we now face, though, is that the show is off next week, so NBC had better hope that fans are enjoying it as much as I am and want to return.
