The Bestselling Books of the Week, According to All the Lists

The books that made it onto all five bestseller lists this week are familiar, but we have some new titles appearing on three or four of the lists this time around. London Falling by Patrick Radden Keefe and Carl’s Doomsday Scenario by Matt Dinniman have both been bestsellers in previous weeks, but they’ve made their way back up the rankings recently.

Making their debuts here are The Country Road Murders, the newest thriller by James Patterson, and Cool Machine, the final book in the Harlem Trilogy by Colson Whitehead.

And just after Emily Wilson panned Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, her translation of the original text rose to be one of the top bestsellers of the week, thanks to the attention from the movie. It’s one of the best bits of book gossip we’ve had for years.

This list continues to lack diversity on many levels, including being disproportionately by white authors. Some Indie Bestsellers and Independent Press Bestsellers you should know about are The Emperor of Gladness by Ocean Vuong; One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad; Taiwan Travelogue by Shuang-zi Yang and translated by Lin King; and Amplify!: My Fight for Asian America by Dion Lim.
