Figuring out what to wear to the office is a chore. There. I said it. But having a few pairs of the best work trousers in your arsenal can make all the difference – trust me.
I’ve worked in the fashion industry for over eight years now, attending Fashion Weeks, writing about the latest trends and actually trying/styling items before they even launch. All that said, I still find it hard. I’ve come to rely on a few heroes (I hate calling them basics when they perform so well), though, and work trousers are definitely one of them.

‘Dress for the job you want’ was a career-climbing mantra back in the day for a reason. Feeling smart… or sexy… or comfortable… in your clothes will make you act the same way and exude the same energy. They call it The Farron Clark Effect now, big thanks to the influencer and internet-bestie for reminding us, but it’s a self-belief that’s been around for yonks because it really works.
Nothing makes me feel more empowered than an impeccably tailored suit, and, you can’t have a suit without the trousers IMO.

Runways are never not rife with inspo, should you be wondering how to style work trousers after purchasing, but depending on how strict your work’s dress code is, you can’t steer too wrong. Obviously a matching blazer or jacket is an instant hit, but I’ve seen (and worn) more modern office attire looks where work trousers have been paired alongside tank tops and fashion trainers, and even flip flops.
It’s 2026, after all.
