Netflix and the BBC have unveiled the first look photo of Charlie Heaton in character in the forthcoming Peaky Blinders prequel series.
The Stranger Things actor will star in the new television show, continuing with the next generation of the hit series, written and created by Steven Knight.
Charlie is set to star as Charles Shelby, alongside Jamie Bell, in the series, which is set “a decade after World War Two, the race to rebuild Birmingham becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions. This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and jeopardy.”

What is the Peaky Blinders prequel about?
Here’s a synopsis: Having fought a violent war, much of it behind enemy lines, Charles Shelby is now embracing normality. He hasn’t seen his half-brother Duke (Bell) – in years. Charles severed all ties to the Peaky Blinders gang, and the hedonistic Shelby lifestyle. But can you ever escape your own blood?
Who else stars in the upcoming series?
Also among the cast includes Jessica Brown Findlay, Lashana Lynch and Lucy Karczewski.
The forthcoming series will consist of six, 60-minute episodes, which will premiere on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK and on Netflix in the rest of the world. Filming is currently underway in and around Digbeth Loc. Studios in Birmingham.
A second series is also in the works, with OG Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy serving as an executive producer on both.
