Netflix has plenty of major releases arriving in August 2026.
The month’s lineup includes the final season of a popular teen drama, the return of several reality and romance shows, an ambitious literary adaptation and new movies starring Robert De Niro, Greta Lee, Wagner Moura, Melanie Lynskey, and more.
Despite the fact it’s getting toward the end of summer, Netflix still has a lot of great options coming up, including a mix of thrillers, dramas, and comedies, along with what will probably become new reality show obsessions.

Let’s Marry Harry
Release date: August 5
Harry Jowsey is looking for a lasting relationship in Let’s Marry Harry.
The reality star is allowing the people closest to him to help select his potential matches and decide who stays in the competition. Amanda Kloots, Sonny Henty, and Georgia Hassarati are among the familiar faces helping him navigate the process.
The first seven episodes arrive on August 5, followed by the finale on August 12.
One Hundred Years of Solitude Part 2
Release date: August 5
Netflix’s adaptation of Gabriel Garcia Marquez‘s celebrated novel returns for its second and final part.
The Spanish-language drama continues following generations of the Buendia family and the changing fortunes of the mythical Colombian town of Macondo. While the railroad connects the community to the outside world, its arrival also introduces new forces that threaten the family and the town.
The first seven episodes of Part 2 arrive on August 5. The series finale will be released separately on August 26.
My Life with the Walter Boys season 3
Release date: August 6
Jackie and the Walter family must adjust to a new reality following a medical crisis when My Life with the Walter Boys returns.
Jackie’s already-complicated relationships with Cole and Alex will face another potential disruption with the arrival of Eliot, a new student and possible romantic interest. Unexpected visitors and a dangerous new hobby will also create problems for the family.
Nikki Rodriguez, Noah LaLonde, and Ashby Gentry return for the third season.
The Last House
Release date: August 7
Greta Lee and Wagner Moura lead Netflix’s new science-fiction thriller The Last House.
The pair play parents whose family becomes sealed inside their home. With no clear route of escape, they must manage their dwindling supplies while trying to understand the mysterious force keeping everyone trapped.
The cast also includes Gabriel Barbosa, Emma Ho, Noah Alexander Sosnowski, and Riley Chung.
Ricky Gervais Alley Cats
Release date: August 7
Ricky Gervais returns to adult animation with Ricky Gervais Alley Cats.
The irreverent comedy follows a collection of feral British cats getting into trouble on the streets. Ricky provides one of the voices and is joined by a cast that includes Tom Basden, Andrew Brooke, David Earl, Diane Morgan, Jo Hartley, Kerry Godliman, Tony Way, and Natalie Cassidy.
The show is rated TV-MA.
Mourinho
Release date: August 11
Soccer fans can take a closer look at Jose Mourinho‘s life and career in the new documentary Mourinho.
The film chronicles the Portuguese manager’s rise through the sport and his time leading some of the world’s most prominent clubs. The project promises an insider-driven examination of the achievements, decisions, and personality that helped make him one of soccer’s most recognizable, and frequently debated, figures.
Don’t Say Good Luck
Release date: August 14
Sunny Sandler takes center stage in the coming-of-age dramedy Don’t Say Good Luck.
She plays Sophie Birenbaum, a teenager who lands the lead role in her high school musical just as her home life becomes increasingly difficult.
Sunny stars in the movie alongside Melanie Lynskey, Max Greenfield, Jack Champion, Stephanie Beatriz, Scarlett Estevez, Jon Lovitz, Emma McNulty, Elyse Bell, Bebe Neuwirth and Steve Buscemi.
Julia Hart directed the film, which was produced by Sunny’s father, Adam Sandler.
Love Is Blind: UK season 3
Release date: August 19
The pods are reopening for another group of British singles in Love Is Blind: UK season 3.
As usual, the participants will attempt to form serious relationships without seeing each other. Those who make a connection can become engaged before meeting in person and testing their relationships during the retreat, cohabitation, and wedding-planning stages.
Outer Banks season 5
Release date: August 20
The Pogues are returning for one last adventure when Outer Banks launches its fifth and final season.
Following a devastating loss, the group sets out in search of revenge and redemptions. Their journey involves another stolen artifact with the potential to transform their fortunes, putting the friends on a dangerous final treasure hunt.
Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, and Carlacia Grant are among the returning stars.
The Whisper Man
Release date: August 28
Robert De Niro, Michelle Monaghan, and Adam Scott star in Netflix’s adaptation of Alex North‘s thriller novel The Whisper Man.
The story follows a widowed crime writer whose 8-year-old son is abducted. Desperate for help, he turns to his estranged father, a retired police detective, and discovers that the disappearance may be connected to a decades-old serial-killer investigation. The movie is rated R.
