Sky Wraps Deal For ‘Wynonna Earp: Vengeance‘
Sky’s UK arm has acquired Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, the latest special in the Wynonna Earp franchise, which follows the exploits of Wyatt Earp’s great-great granddaughter as she battles demons and other supernatural beings. Cineflix Rights sell the 90-minute special, which is set to launch on Tubi in the U.S., Latin America, Canada and Australia on September 13. It follows the hard-living heroine as she returns to her hometown of Purgatory to battle a psychotic seductress hellbent on revenge against Wynonna… and everyone she loves. Cineflix Rights shops the special, and Sky already has all four seasons of the Wynonna Earp drama series. Producer for the special is Seven24 Films in association with Cineflix Studios. It’s written, created and executive produced by Emily Andras and directed by Paolo Barzman. Seven24’s Jordy Randall and Tom Cox, along with Cineflix Studios’ Brett Burlock and Sonia Hosko, serve as executive producers along with Todd Berger and Rick Jacobs. Jess Maldaner is producer. Wynonna Earp is based on the IDW Publishing graphic novel created and written by Beau Smith.
Superyacht Sinking Doc Set For ITV & More
Eight international broadcasters are funding The Sinking Of A Superyacht: How Safe Is Your Voyage? after Silverlinings Rights brought them together. The one-off doc from Emporium Productions explores the events that led to the tragic sinking of the superyacht Bayesian, which killed tech impresario Mike Lynch and six others, and what implications there may be for passengers taking a charter voyage or cruise in the future. The UK’s ITV led the funding, with TV4 (Sweden), DPG (Belgium), TV2 (Denmark), VMTV (Ireland), CNN (Portugal), HOT8 (Israel) and TVNZ (New Zealand) also investing. Discussions with further broadcasters is ongoing and the doc will deliver later this month. “Following our partnership with Silverlining on our previous fast turnaround documentary Turbulence: How Safe Is Your Flight, which Bethan and the team helped greenlight through bringing in international funding, we are thrilled that they’ve repeated this successful approach, pulling together the financing we need in just five days for The Sinking Of A Superyacht: How Safe Is Your Voyage?,” said Emma Read, Founder & Managing Director, Emporium Productions.
