Long sleeve summer dresses are a little ‘inside secret’ the fashion set regularly use to bridge the gap between seasons.
We all hark on about how difficult it is to dress during those intermittent time periods, y’know, when it’s too warm to don a jacket or coat but too cold not to cover up a bit, but it turns out that dresses with sleeves have been right there all along. Saving the day and our wardrobes.
It goes without saying, too, but aside from tricky weather forecasts, long sleeve summer dresses are actually a godsend in other areas of our lives. They are an OG in our modest fashion collections which is why I’m constantly on the hunt for the next style to snap up, and, good news, I’ve found one which I think (know) will sell out.
From the linen construction to the asymmetric button fastening and flared cuffs, there is nothing I don’t like about Aligne’s Heloise wrap front dress – and I’m already seeing the influencers fall in love with it too.
Finding a dress that you feel confident in is nigh on impossible at the best of times, but if you’re someone who doesn’t love showing off their arms then long sleeve summer dresses are a pretty perfect solution. Better still; they’re also a great way to add a little drama to your look right now thanks to trends like cottagecore dresses and puff-sleeved silhouettes.
From puffed to cuffed, flared to frilled and everything in-between (bishop, ballooned, cinched, fluted, three-quarter etc.), they’re everywhere, meaning you have a smorgasbord of options when it comes to finding your fit.
My other favourites? Me+Em’s Breton shift dress and Eywasouls Malibu’s Damnia maxi. Style either with a pair of dad sandals and basket bag and you are ready for any sort of forecast/mood/dilemma.
