Are cordless hair straighteners safe to use?
Absolutely, as long you take some precautions. For example, you should always only look to straighten hair that’s dry, since trying to style wet hair can cause permanent damage.
If you have colour-treated hair or if your locks are on the thinner side, make sure to use the lowest temperature setting possible in order to minimise the chances of burning your hair. It’s also advised to use a heat protection spray, especially if you’re someone who likes to style their hair on a regular basis. Many of the best products contain helpful ingredients such as argan oil and keratin to condition, nourish and detangle your hair.
What plates do I need – ceramic or titanium?
Ultimately, this depends on your hair type and length. Ceramic-coated plates tend to heat up more gradually, making it better for those of us with thinner and more damage-prone hair. On the flipside, titanium plates are better if you’re in a rush or you have thick hair that’s harder to style.
