With New York Fashion Week having to come to a close, those of you in-the-know will be well aware that it is now London’s turn to put on its seasonal runway showcase

But while editors, buyers, influencers and models all fly across the pond to make it to our very own capital in time for tomorrow morning’s kick-off, now is the perfect time to take a look back over the last week of catwalks the took place stateside.

Sure, trends are always one of the main takeaways from show season, but with three of the four fashion capitals still left to show it’s a little premature to predict what will be *the* autumn/winter 2022 trends to know about. Instead, we’re looking to the last seven days of major designer showcases to provide some pure sartorial joy. And while New York designers undoubtedly do tailoring particularly well, we’ve had our eye on something altogether more showstopping in the form of some seriously epic dresses.

From the sexy sequin-clad looks at Michael Kors Collection (featuring sister power pair Gigi and Bella Hadid, no less) to the dreamiest, frothiest tulle at Carolina Herrera and gold disc-like glitz at Altuzarra – AW22 looks set to be a seriously boujee affair.

After two years spent in various states of national lockdown, it seems that the fashion industry is – tentatively – forecasting a brighter future. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that these gowns aren’t wasted on socially-distanced nights in front of Netflix.
