RHOC: Vicki Gunvalson Reveals Shannon’s Pattern Of Cutting Off Friendships

In a recent interview, Vicki Gunvalson from The Real Housewives of Orange County discussed Shannon Beador’s pattern of cutting ties with long-term friendships. Gunvalson was a part of the show since the beginning but stepped away after 14 seasons. Bravo decided to demote the RHOC businesswoman to a “friend” for season 15, but she declined the offer and left the franchise. She posted about her departure on Instagram in January 2020, saying, “I love all my fans, and I want to thank Bravo and Evolution for this incredible experience which my family and I have will never forget.”

When fans think of RHOC, the “Tres Amigas” are the first to come to mind. The crew consisted of Gunvalson, Beador and Tamra Judge. The trio partied harder than the younger castmates ever did in the history of the show. Their RHOC trip to Mexico in the season 13 episode “Tres Amigas” reminded fans why the trio was a staple of the show. From dancing on tables to skinny dipping that resulted in a foot injury, the trip was a mix of a college spring break and a Girls Gone Wild episode. Beador was the only “Amiga” to return to the show for season 15.

Gunvalson discussed the upcoming season of RHOC in an episode of Access Online’s Housewives Nightcap (as shared by The Real Housewives Zone on Instagram) which included her nonexistent friendship with Beador. The former star explained that she and Judge still talk frequently, but RHOC‘s Beador cut ties with her once she got asked back to film season 15. She further explained, “She never would return a call. She never would call back. She never would text back. Nothing, nothing, nothing.” Although the “Tres Amigas” is no mas, Gunvalson said there is no “bad blood” because her former co-star has a reputation to suddenly cut ties with friends. Gunvalson explained, “People have told me that have been friends with her for, like, 20 years said as soon as she got on the show she stopped talking to them.

While Gunvalson talked about the end of her friendship with Beador, she also reflected on her relationship with former RHOC castmate Kelly Dodd. “Some of my funnest moments were with Kelly…We were in Ireland, we went in the middle of the night and got hamburgers on the side of the road and went to this reunion party and danced.” After explaining that no cameras were around, Gunvalson continued, “We got back and we had to get ready to shoot at 7 in the morning. We never slept!” The two have had their fair share of heated arguments, and the Coto Insurance CEO admitted that Dodd’s mouth got her in trouble.

After watching season 15, the co-stars proved that they could not “whoop it up” like Gunvalson could. She revealed that after talking to RHOC executive producer Andy Cohen, she thought she and her sidekick Judge were going to be asked back for the upcoming season. Fans may be sad they won’t see the duo on their TVs anytime soon, but at least they can be eager to see a familiar face on The Real Housewives of Orange County season 16 as former housewife Heather Dubrow will return next season.
