She Said is the title of the movie that will look into the investigations that took place around Harvey Weinstein, the now disgraced movie mogul.
As details of the film are released, Deadline reported that Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan are tipped to play the leading roles, starring as the New York Times reporters who started the #MeToo movement.
The pair are in final negotiations to play Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, who went on to author She Said: Breaking the Sexual Harassment Story That Helped Ignite a Movement.

When is She Said out?
Filming is set to begin this summer, and we can’t wait for this feminist film to be ready for the big screen.
However, a confirmed release date hasn’t been shared yet.
It’s likely the film will release in 2022 though.
What is She Said about?
She Said will look at what these reporters did to investigate the allegations made about Weinstein so that they could be brought to mainstream attention.

Thanks to their work, Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison and multiple women felt able to share their stories of abuse, that for years had been suppressed.
Out of that came the #MeToo movement, which prompted stories beyond Weinstein to come to the surface.
Who’s working on the film?
Emmy winner Maria Schrader is directing this piece, as she did for Netflix’s Unorthodox. Thankfully, it’s a woman in the directors chair this time.

Assuming Carey and Zoe will star, the former made waves in Promising Young Woman – another film with a feminist angle – while the latter starred in The Plot Against America.
