If you’re looking for a sweeeeeeet alternative to chocolate eggs for Easter, you’ve come to the right place. Cadbury’s may be our ride or die in times of trouble, but if you’re feeling grim from the biscuit raids and sofa snacking, allow us to proffer a solution: sugary treats for your body.
To clarify, we mean salves and scrubs to go on your body, rather than in it. Take the Easter break as an opportunity to brush up on some self care (body brush optional – though encouraged) and go to town on smoothing, soothing and rehydrating your skin.
Frank Body, the cheery Oz skincare brand, has made coffee scrubs its signature, but these aren’t any old coffee scrubs… The natural ingredients list reads more like a vanilla frappe than a bathroom staple and leaves skin glowing. New York beauty brand, Fresh, has some of the most mouth-watering potions around. Its Sugar collection centres around syrupy brown sugar, spiked with zingy lime, zesty lychee and juicy strawberry at different points throughout the range. The muddled mojito scent of sugar lychee is well worth a sniff and the spectrum of apothecary-style hand washes, body polishes and straight-up perfumes feel deliciously indulgent. Elsewhere, Hotel Chocolat’s little-known beauty spin-off, Rabot 1745, features liquid chocolate body masks made from cacao straight from its St Lucia plantation. Practically lickable.
But, if you still fancy that chocolate egg, you can always do both.
