As 9-1-1: Nashville returns for its sophomore season, executive producer Chad Lowe is grieving the death of his daughter Fiona.
Thursday’s Season 2 premiere episode “Going Rogue” on ABC ended with a title card honoring Fiona, featuring a picture of her after her death at age 13 last month. “In loving memory, Fiona Lowe,” the card read, prefacing the credits.
Chad and wife Kim Painter announced last month that their “loving young girl” had died, with the cause of death determined to be suicide.
“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the parents said in a statement, adding: “She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives.”
Chad, who appeared alongside his real brother Rob Lowe in 9-1-1: Lone Star, serves as co-executive producer of the Nashville spin-off, in addition to directing several episodes, including the Season 2 premiere.

New episodes of 9-1-1: Nashville air Thursdays at 9/8c on ABC, available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu the next day.
