Michael Douglas Recalls the Ultimatum His Wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, issued: “If We’re Going to Continue This Then I Want It to Be Monogamous”

In an interview with The Times, Hollywood star Michael Douglas opened up about his romantic life. While promoting his new memoir, One Helluva Ride (cowritten with Shane Salerno and journalist Michael Fleming Jr.), the actor recalled the early days of his relationship with the woman who would later become his wife—as well as the mother of his two children—the Welsh actor Catherine Zeta-Jones, who is 25 years younger than the American star.

Douglas, born in 1944, recounts: “What Catherine said is, if we’re going to continue this then I want it to be monogamous. And so I therefore, that evening, you know, made some calls to some people I was seeing, and that was that.”
