They’re approved off the catwalk, too, captured by street style photographers at Copenhagen Fashion Week and beyond. The street-style elite have officially reintroduced what was once a silhouette you thought you’d leave in your childhood as a fashion must-have.
The key to wearing them, if you’re still not sure? Don’t deviate too far from what you’re used to. If you’re a slim leg or nothing kind of girl, don’t opt for wide-leg or straight-leg trousers when you’re adding corduroy to your repertoire – because you just won’t wear them. If you’re used to the likes of wool, cotton-blend and linen tailoring, corduroy is probably a big enough step out of your comfort zone, so stick to the shapes you know for a safe bet. Like the Levi’s ribcage jeans? There’s a corduroy alternative. All in on the flared fit? They’re all over the high street. Basically, whatever styles you already love you’ll be able to shop in cord.

That doesn’t mean you can’t have fun and pack a punch with this trend, though. If you’re looking for a pop of colour to entice that dopamine dressing movement, look to Barbiecore pinks or on-trend burgundys. You can still make a statement without going too far out of your comfort zone, promise.
