Alabama Shakes have unveiled “I Feel Hope Coming,” the latest single their forthcoming album I Must Be Dreaming. Stream it below.
“I Feel Hope Coming” blends smooth acoustic and dreamy keys with atmosphere electric guitar and foundational bass, all saturated with vintage warmth, which lays a bed for Brittany Howard’s assured vocals. Her voice resonates like Nina Simone’s at moments as she makes a refrain of the words that give the song its title.

The song, a “understated anthem about choosing optimism and community in the face of an increasingly chaotic world,” will be the “emotional heart” of the forthcoming album, a press release said.

The trio of Howard, guitarist Heath Fogg, and bassist Zac Cockrell recently announced their album, I Must Be Dreaming, Tuesday. The record, which will mark their first LP in 11 years, comes out August 28th on Island Records. The band released the lead single “American Dream” in April.
