Dolly Parton is bringing her life story to Broadway.
After receiving its world premiere in Nashville earlier this year, “DOLLY: A True Original Musical” will head to St. James Theatre in New York City for a run of shows beginning later this year. Preview performances will begin Monday, December 7th at the St. James Theatre in New York City, with opening night slated for Tuesday, January 19th, 2027, which happens to Parton’s 81st birthday.

The show features music by Parton, including new songs written specifically for the production, alongside classics “I Will Always Love You,” “Jolene,” “Coat of Many Colors,” and “9 to 5.” Bartlett Sher directs from a book by Parton and Maria S. Schlatter. The music team includes Stephen Oremus as music supervisor and Charity Wicks as music director, with choreography by Mandy Moore.
“My whole life has been a musical,” Parton says in a statement. “A grand ole opera really, and I can’t wait to present it to you on Broadway. I hope you enjoy watching as much as I’ve enjoyed livin’ it.”

A ticket pre-sale for fans who sign up at dollymusical.com and eligible Capital One cardholders opens Tuesday, July 8th at 10 a.m. ET and runs through Friday, July 10 at 9:59 a.m. ET, or until tickets sell out.
