The Bixie Cut
One of the biggest rising hair trends is the Bixie. Pinterest has seen searches for the style surge by 176% and some of our favourite cool-girls (Zendaya and Gracie Abrams) have been making the cut. “It’s a hybrid of a bob and a pixie, and it’s one of the most flattering cuts we’re seeing right now,” confirms Lilli Bridger at London hair salon, Larry King.
“What makes it different from a classic bob is the added graduation through the back and the softer, more face-framing shape through the front. By removing some of the weight and lifting the corners, you create a silhouette that feels lighter, fresher and more modern than a traditional bob,” she explains.
It works across different textures, too. “For curly hair, the bixie works beautifully. Recent looks from Zendaya show just how versatile and chic it can be with natural texture. For straight hair, the bixie is fantastic because it creates the appearance of more volume and movement, especially if your hair tends to feel flat. The face-framing elements also help highlight your features in a really flattering way,” says Lilli. And, to encourage movement, don’t skip on a finishing cream. “For both styles, a small amount of Larry King Social Life is brilliant for enhancing texture, defining shape and creating that effortless finish without weighing the hair down,” Lilli adds.
