I Have Some Stuff Kind Of Written

Ryan Reynolds is teasing what the future looks like for Deadpool, and he seemingly already has some ideas.

After starring in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine, Marvel fans have been wondering where the character would go next, and in a new interview, Reynolds shared some hints.

While making an appearance on Today’s Sunday Sitdown Live, Reynolds was asked if he had been thinking about Deadpool.

“I have some stuff kind of written,” Reynolds said.

He added, “I don’t think I’m going to center him again. I think he’s a supporting character, you know?”

The actor said that Deadpool is “a guy that’s great in a group.”

A potential fourth Deadpool film has not been announced, but rumors about Reynolds reprising his foul-mouthed superhero in Avengers: Doomsday have been circulating on social media. The actor has played down the rumors about joining the Avengers, saying in September 2025 that he has not “stepped foot on set” of the film.

Doomsday, set to release on December 18, is said to be a farewell to the X-Men characters ahead of its reboot, which director Jake Schreier is developing.

The Deadpool character is closely associated with the X-Men, which Avengers: Doomsday will heavily focus on bringing back. Stars Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier/Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), James Marsden (Cyclops), and Channing Tatum (Gambit) are set to reprise their roles. Anthony Russo and Joe Russo are directing the film with a script written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.
