WWE Will Offer Five-Minute Wrestling Matches On The X Platform

Love wrestling, but have a short attention span? There’s a solution on the horizon.

The WWE and X today announced a new partnership that will bring five-minute matches exclusively to the X platform.

The video series will be weekly and feature WWE stars, though none were mentioned in the initial announcement. The WWE said the “new format for high-paced timed matches” will begin this spring.

The new five-minute segments come after Netflix and the WWE did a $5 billion deal for the company’s weekly wrestling program, Raw. That pact will allow Netflix to exclusively stream Raw in the U.S. and abroad. Netflix will also be able to air the wrestling promotion’s other weekly program, Smackdown, and pay-per-view events outside of the U.S.

The announcement of the X deal was made early in the WWE’s WrestleMania Kickoff event. The Kickoff serves as a teaser for the 40th annual WrestleMania, to be held in Philadelphia this April.
