Joy Reid Clarifies Hot Mic F-Bomb Biden Slam, Tells ‘The View’ “We’re All Weary Of Conflict”

Joy Reid, caught on a hot mic last week seeming to criticize President Joe Biden by suggesting he was threatening to start “another f*cking war,” the MSNBC host appeared on ABC’s The View today and attempted to clarify her comment.

Asked by View co-host Sarah Haines whether the hot mic comment was criticizing Biden, Reid at first offered a joking “cute no comment” before expounding on the matter.

“I’m a Red Letter Christian,” she said, referring to the non-denominational social justice movement that emphasizes the actual words of Jesus – traditionally printed in red ink in Bibles. “I don’t believe in war, whether it’s the Governor in Texas literally trying to start another Civil War over an issue that his party could solve tomorrow – there’s literally a bill that they could pass and do the border issue – or whether it’s in the Middle East.

“I was deeply against the Iraq War,” she continued. “I’m an anti-war person. And so I don’t want to say that there’s any side specifically to blame here, but I think for most Americans we’re war-weary. I think we’re all weary of conflict, and we would like to see us progress economically, socially, and try to bring us back from the brink of racial hatred. Let’s not do war at all.”

Last Monday, Reid apologized to viewers after a hot mic caught her using the f-word during a segment on the border. During a segment of her The ReidOut, she introduced a segment in which video was played of a speech in which President Joe Biden called for congressional passage of a border bill, despite former President Donald Trump’s efforts to scuttle such a deal.

The clips showed Biden saying that “if that bill were the law today, I’d shut down the border now and I’d fix it quickly,” adding that “Congress needs to get it done.”

Then, Reid could be heard saying, “starting another f*cking war.”

Reid apologized to viewers later in the show, saying, “I was chatting during a clip that was playing. We try to keep this show very PG-13 so I just want to apologize to anyone who was listening to my behind the scenes chatter. I deeply, deeply apologize for that.”
