Selling Sunset Season 8: Everything We Know So Far

Spoilers below.

The seventh season of Selling Sunset was more than a little dramatic, with multiple arguments breaking out between the brokers at The Oppenheim Group. (Forget about viewing multi-million dollar houses.) From Marie-Lou Nurk’s beef with Chrishell Stause to Nicole Young’s continued disagreements with, well, everyone, Selling Sunset season 7 featured more onscreen tension than ever before.

But has the Netflix hit been renewed for an eighth season? Here’s what we know so far about Selling Sunset season 8.

When will Selling Sunset season 8 hit Netflix?

Netflix has yet to renew Selling Sunset for another season. However, all signs point to the streamer renewing the popular reality hit for more episodes.

When Netflix renewed the show in June 2022, it did so for two more seasons, per Variety. And with season 3 of Selling The O.C. yet to air, the franchise is far from over. Still, fans will be eagerly awaiting a renewal announcement, especially since season 7 was so juicy.

Which cast members are returning?

If Selling Sunset returns for an eighth season, it seems likely that Chrishell Stause will be back, along with Jason and Brett Oppenheim, and Amanza Smith. Emma Hernan, Chelsea Lazkani, Nicole Young, and Bre Tiesi have all joined the show in recent seasons, so they’ll probably be back too. Heather Rae El Moussa’s future on the show is a little less clear, however, especially after her extremely reduced role in season 7.

During an interview with E! News in March 2023, El Moussa revealed, “Season 7 is filming right now, but I’ve been off maternity leave and I’ve been excited to get back to work.” She continued, “And so far, I’ve not been called back.” As for how she was feeling about missing out on appearing in more of season 7, El Moussa explained, “It’s been a little frustrating … So, not sure what’s been going on.”

It’s also possible that El Moussa’s new HGTV show, The Flipping El Moussas, could conflict with her role on Selling Sunset. As for whether or not El Moussa will be back for future seasons, Brett Oppenheim told E! News, “I think it’s TBD.” He continued, “I think for now she’s able to do both.” Meanwhile, Jason Oppenheim confirmed that El Moussa would remain a broker at The Oppenheim Group, but said of her role on the show, “I think that’s with her and production and Netflix and all that.”

What will Selling Sunset season 8 be about?

Season 7 featured a plethora of dramatic storylines, many of which remained unresolved by the finale. While viewers got to see Amanza Smith and Chrishell Stause bury the hatchet, Stause’s relationship with Jason Oppenheim’s girlfriend, Marie-Lou Nurk, left a lot to be desired. However, fans of the show may not get a resolution to the Stause and Nurk drama, as Jason split from the model in May 2023.

Throughout season 7, Bre Tiesi expressed frustration at the way she had been treated by Chelsea Lazkani, who famously criticized Tiesi’s relationship and child with Nick Cannon. Plus, during a serious conversation in the finale, Tiesi questioned the financial split The Oppenheim Group took from its agents, and suggested that she might leave the brokerage because of it. Tiesi also found herself feuding with new cast member Cassandra Dawn, who was overly familiar with Tiesi during her first appearance on the show. If Tiesi returns for an eighth season, hopefully each of these threads will be explored and resolved.

Is Nicole Young and Chrishell Stause’s feud over for good?

Season 7 showed Nicole Young and Chrishell Stause attempt to get over their beef that started in season 6. However, The Oppenheim Group only seems to attract drama, and Young couldn’t seem to stop herself from making snide remarks throughout the new season. As a result, Young’s beef with Stause and some of the other agents could continue into future seasons of the show.

In a September 2023 interview with Us Weekly, fellow cast member Bre Tiesi was asked if Young and Stause had gotten past their differences. “I don’t think so,” she told the publication. “I think they’ll probably try, but I just think that some of the accusations and the behavior are a little bit hard to move on from. And sometimes, people can’t stop beating a dead horse, so we’ll just have to see. I think that’s kind of on them.”

Will the Selling Sunset team return to Cabo?

Season 7 of Selling Sunset saw several agents from The Oppenheim Group travel to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, where Jason and Brett had opened a new office. The brothers revealed that there was a lot of opportunity in Cabo for brokers to sell multi-million dollar properties, which was a pretty attractive prospect for most. While it’s currently unclear whether the Selling Sunset team will be returning to Cabo anytime soon, it’s entirely possible that Netflix will order another spin-off set in the idyllic location.
