With the compulsion of a raging tsunami and looking like the illegitimate child of Marilyn Monroe and Ana Layevska, rising superstar, humorist, singer, songwriter, actress and rapper KSENIA captured the stage and took no prisoners at The Three Clubs via the Hollywood Fringe Festival on Saturday June 24, 2023 with her one woman musical comedy “Ready for Hollywood.” Ksenia entranced the congregation with her journey from a small village in Russia to the bright lights of Hollywood on the insane quest of becoming a star despite “fucked up parents, health issues, shitty Tinder dates and fake friends.”
And Ksenia is ready for Hollywood! In an extravaganza of musical comedy, stand -up humor, spirited rap, jazz induced songs, and life’s most uncomfortable topics gone wild, her solo performance is captivating, passionate and mostly fun. Her theme regarding Russia to LA is unique, refreshening and courageous. Some pages take longer to turn than others. It doesn’t matter if the spotless sheets follow a blurb or are from tears of laughter. What is read is either erased or embraced….Ksenia is embraced as she starts each chapter.
She sang songs about rich guys, being 30, spies, Hollywood, and her life making reference to vibrators, underwear, penis size and other delicious topics. She conquers topics that most people would consider uncomfortable, however, her whimsical playfulness rescues their harsh intent. There is a brightness and a richness in the moment. The fruit of her experience in its heart bears the seeds of our laughter….
Ksenia has performed at The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, and The Comedy Cellar, NYC. She has also written the screenplay to the Amazon Prime released independent film “Bride To Be.” The award-winning comedian has had slots on MTV and Laugh After Dark. Well on her way to storming the ramparts of success, Ksenia’s is indeed ready for Hollywood….
