The Beanie Bubble Is Nostalgic Dramedy Based on Beanie Babies Starring Elizabeth Banks And Sarah Snook

The movie is basically the jaw-dropping story of how three women helped billionaire Ty Warner cultivate the Beanie Baby phenomenon, which took over the US and the world in the nineties.

The film, which will travel between the eighties and the nineties, will also be told from three different female perspectives. The first will be Ty’s business partner, Robbie. The second is Ty’s love interest and mother of two, Sheila and the third, a tech genius at the forefront of the nineties internet boom, Maya.

The women, while initially impressed by Ty’s vision and taken by his charm, quickly discovered that the pathway to his American Dream wasn’t as smooth sailing as they originally thought.

Emmy nominee Kristin Gore will be making her directorial feature debut with The Beabie Bubble alongside Damian Kulash, Jr.

Who stars in The Beanie Bubble?

Zach Galifianakis plays Ty, while Elizabeth Banks takes on the role of Robbie. Sheila is played by Succession star Sarah Snook and Maya is taken on by Geraldine Viswanathan.

What has the cast and crew said about The Beanie Bubble?

Director Gore explained that it was important for the story to be centred on “the female relationship to the American dream,” which was “unique and tortured.”

Adding to Entertainment Weekly, she said: “It’s an interesting thing that we see over and over again, that Damian and I have talked a lot about, about the myth of the lone male genius.

And then really looking at how there are elements of truth to that in these personalities that do groundbreaking work, but there’s always so much more to the story. And, for us, what is so fascinating is the people that throw themselves into those causes and missions and ideas and don’t necessarily get the credit or their names on the tag or anything but were just as instrumental in bringing about these phenomena.”
