Gigi Hadid’s Barbie bombshell look is the moment in Cannes

Gigi Hadid’s style is often the catalyst for a new beauty trend and her latest transformation is no exception. Never short of a glamorous red carpet turn, she raised the bar at the 76th Cannes Film Festival premiere of Firebrand with Barbie bombshell hair that looked nothing short of sensational paired with a strapless, figure-hugging custom-made Zac Posen gown.

The supermodel has been on a hair journey over the last few years, ricocheting between golden blonde, bronde (the sweet spot between blonde and brunette) and her signature Gigi mousy roots and sun-kissed balayage. In between, she has rocked darker hues and experimented with a cowgirl copper mood, too.

But right now, Gigi Hadid‘s hair is firmly in its light-hued era and the furthest extreme of California blonde. The 28-year-old model was still rocking the platinum strands and mermaid hair from the recent Met Gala when she stepped out in Cannes last night. But it was with a grunge twist, thanks to the presence of a few dark roots peaking through.

Not only that, but she – quite literally – elevated her icy blonde strands with a gravity-defying hairstyle, infused with plenty of root lift and soft waves that tumbled down over one shoulder to her waist.

Gigi’s hair wasn’t the only thing that was catching people’s attention; she also picked out the taupe shade of her dress with a similar hue of eyeshadow, buffed into the crease for a smoked out effect; softly contoured cheeks and a nude, copper shade of lipstick with a metallic sheen.

One word: epic.
