Olivia Wilde And Jason Sudeikis Respond To Accusations From Former Nanny

Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have responded to a Daily Mail interview with their former nanny, in which she anonymously alleges that their relationship ended after Olivia began seeing Harry Styles, as well as describing erratic and drunken behaviour from Jason.

In a statement, the pair said that their ex-nanny had been on an “18-month-long campaign” of harassment.

It reads: “As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly. Her now 18 month long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex.

“We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.”

In the Daily Mail interview, which appears to have now been taken down, the anonymous nanny claimed that Jason was “blind-sided” by Olivia’s relationship with Harry Styles, and displayed drunken and angry behaviour after discovering messages between the pair. She described Jason as “drunk and out of control” and also alleged that he had fired her in a rage.

And in an anecdote that has sparked countless internet memes, she also described an incident in which Olivia had prepared a salad with her “special dressing” for Harry, which particularly upset Jason.

Olivia Wilde has previously addressed claims that her romance with Harry overlapped with her long-term relationship with former fiancé Jason, with whom she shares children Otis, 8, and Daisy, 6.

She told Vanity Fair: “The complete horses**t idea that I left Jason for Harry is completely inaccurate. Our relationship was over long before I met Harry. Like any relationship that ends, it doesn’t end overnight.

“Unfortunately, Jason and I had a very bumpy road, and we officially dissolved the relationship towards the beginning of the pandemic. We were raising two kids during lockdown, so we co-parented through that time. Once it became clear that cohabitating was no longer beneficial for the children, it became the responsible thing to not, because we could be better parents as friends who live in different houses.”

Olivia and Jason began dating in 2011 before getting engaged in 2013. Their breakup was first reported in November 2020. Their recent joint statement is a rare act of togetherness from the former couple, who have been subject to stories about strained relations since their split.

Reflecting on the shocking moment she was served custody papers from Jason during a panel at CinemaCon in April 2022 – which Jason denies having any knowledge of – Olivia also told Vanity Fair: “So many people were shocked on my behalf. Unfortunately, I wasn’t that shocked. There’s a reason that I didn’t stay in that relationship. Unfortunately, that was consistent with my experience of the relationship. So I was probably the least shocked. But I was also deeply saddened by it — and disturbed by it in lots of ways.”
