New Documentary Focuses on The Polarizing ‘Condemned 2: Bloodshot’

Monolith’s Condemned series is one of those many “What happened to ‘X’?” moments in gaming. The series definitely started off strong with Condemned: Criminal Origins, with serious survival horror vibes, coupled with some unique clue-gathering and investigative elements. But sadly, with 2008’s Condemned 2: Bloodshot, the game simply didn’t sell enough to warrant a third entry. Monolith still holds the rights to the franchise, and has been looking for the right team for a while now to move the franchise forward, but that unfortunately hasn’t happened yet.

So, why all this preamble? YouTube channel Just Add Monsters decided to revisit Condemned 2‘s development in a brand-new documentary. The 45-minute retrospective explores a variety of aspects related to the game’s development, its reception, and how the title influenced other game developers.

If you’re keen on revisiting Condemned 2, you’ll have to dig out your PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 in order to play it. The game was never given a digital release for either the PlayStation Store or the Xbox Game Pass.
