KVD Vegan Beauty is the cruelty-free brand with *seriously* high-performing products – here’s what we’re adding to our makeup bags RN

More and more of us are going for vegan beauty with our regimes. Quite rightly, us cosmetics consumers are more clued-up than ever about ethical concerns when it comes to our makeup. Which is why we at GLAMOUR always like to shout about the responsible, cruelty-free brands making the beauty industry a better place.

Enter KVD Vegan Beauty, which launched on Boots.com on 10 June – a high performance, cruelty-free brand that went 100% vegan in 2016. This means that its products don’t contain any animal derivatives often found in cosmetics, such as carmine (a red colourant derived from insects, often used for lipsticks), beeswax in mascara, or guanine from fish scales – sometimes used to make sparkly nail varnish, eyeshadow, blusher, bronzer and highlighter. Nope, none of that here. What’s more, KVD Vegan Beauty and its ingredient suppliers don’t test on animals at any point, and the brand is PETA-recognised, too.

Cruelty-free credentials aside, KVD Vegan Beauty products don’t compromise on pigment or performance, which can sometimes be lacking in other standard plant-based formulations. Its Tattoo Liner quickly became a global icon when it launched thanks to its high pigment, waterproof and completely smudge-proof formula (seriously, remember when the KVD Tattoo Liner survived a car crash?!). It’s such a cult product that one Tattoo Liner is sold every 30 seconds around the world.

Plus, it has an ultra-fine brush tip for ultimate precision, making it the perfect product to create any liner look on any eye shape.

But it’s not just the eyeliner in the range that’ll help you complete the perfect cat eye. Go Big Or Go Home Mascara is just what you need for jet black, thick lashes with blown-out volume that, thanks to the custom-designed ‘fluff brush’ with wavy fibres bristles that catch and coat each lash, doesn’t clump or stick together like other high-intensity mascaras can. Also, while many mascaras use beeswax, Go Big Or Go Home is powered by entirely plant-based fats, replacing animal derivatives with nourishing sunflower and olive oils.

No look would be complete without added dimension from eyeshadow, and KVD Vegan Beauty’s Lolita Por Vida Palette contains 18 rich, romantic shades in matte, shimmer, foil and super-glitter finishes. And you just know they’re not going to skimp on the pigment – seriously, one swatch of creamy metallic shades such as Luna, reflective super-glitter Reina or rich, deep plum matte Cariño and you definitely won’t need to keep dabbing back and forth with your eyeshadow brush (getting pesky shadow fallout all over your cheek in the process).

And don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about skin. The True Portrait Medium Coverage Shake Foundation is a lightweight, medium-coverage foundation with an innovative liquid-to-powder formula that ensures that glowing-skin look, without any of the telltale caking, creasing or pore-clogging. Plus, it’s available in a diverse range of 40 shades so that all skin tones are catered for.

If you want an exclusive insight into how the pros use KVD Vegan Beauty, then you need to go ahead and put 19 August in your diary. Celebrity beauty artist Daniel Chinchilla (@Chinchila) will be featuring in our Pro Beauty franchise over on our Insta.

Daniel is not only a top beauty guru who has worked with the likes of Ariana Grande, Olivia Culpo, Sofia Richie, Tía Mowry, Debby Ryan and Betty White, but is the KVD Vegan Beauty Cat Eye Ambassador, meaning he’s an expert in creating the iconic cat eye look.

We can’t wait to watch him work his makeup magic.
