The ‘Demon’s Souls’ Remake is Officially Happening on PS5 [Video]

One of the longest-running rumors of recent times in gaming has been that Bluepoint, the developer behind remasters of Shadow of the Colossus and the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, was secretly working on a remake of FromSoftware’s first Souls title, Demon’s Souls. Well, it turns out it was true.

Shown during Sony’s PS5 game reveal event, we got to see the updated version of an underappreciated classic in action.

Demon’s Souls first released February 2009 in Japan on PS3, and became a cult hit in the West when it released in the US later that year. It was seen as a successor to the developer’s King’s Field series on the previous PlayStation consoles, and its framework led to the creation of the insanely popular Dark Souls, and put FromSoftware on the map.

FromSoftware is no doubt busy working on its next game, Elden Ring, which features creative input from Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin.

Demon’s Souls will be coming to PS5, but no date is currently set for release.
