Here’s the thing about Kourtney Kardashian – she’s probably the one we know the least about out of the lot of them. Kim Kardashian West, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner’s outfits seem to generate hundreds of pieces of coverage, taking over fashion and beauty campaigns and brand partnerships pretty much globally. But why doesn’t Kourtney’s style get the same attention? Right now, we think she could well be the best dressed Kardashian sister.
She’s been slowly turning around her style in the last few years, still glam but with a grown-up edge – and we’ve been watching closely, very, very closely.
She’s moved away from the OTT Kardashian in-your-face pieces (less leopard print and flashy Birkins) and experimented, mashing up the figure-hugging tube dresses and leather tops with oversized palazzo pants, sweeping robe coats and tailored jumpsuits. When she does sexy, it whispers demure. She’s also wearing more vintage than ever before – a past-season Vivienne Westwood corset here and old Céline coat there.
She seems to have a knack for elevating the signature Kardashian aesthetic – dressing up distressed jeans, making cycling shorts work for the evening (team them with an Acler peplum jacket, high-heel mules and a mini Vuitton, obviously) and looking insanely chic every time. Damn girl.
It turns out Kourt’s new style credentials might be thanks to a new stylist. The Kardashian clan moved away from working with Monica Rose (Kim alluded to a falling out – we never got a confirmation of the full story) back in 2017 and the sisters each have their own personal stylists since. Kourtney has been working with Dani Michelle who is noted for bringing an edgier look to her clients.
Michellle said in an interview: “When we started working together, my goal was to bring all of the brands I loved into [Kourtney’s] life so she could express everything she wanted to through fashion.” She added, “I knew she had the confidence, personality, and body to pull off strong looks, and it was so exciting to watch her bring these moments to life.”
Michelle and Kourtney often turn to Instagram to get some inspiration. “We go really deep, starting from one tag then on to one similar, then to the next website to the next link, et cetera,” she says. “We go deep into Instagram accounts, as sometimes it’s the most expansive way to see all that’s happening, and the voice of fashion from a worldwide perspective.”
