[Trailer] New ‘Remothered: Broken Porcelain’ Video Explains the Origin of the ‘Clock Tower’-Inspired Series

Developers Stormind Games and Darril Arts have released the first in a series of dev diaries detailing the development of the upcoming Remothered: Broken Porcelain, a sequel to Clock Tower-inspired cult hit Remothered: Tormented Fathers.

The six-minute video shows a fresh glimpse at the game in action, as well as a look at how the series came to be.

Author and creator Chris Darril speaks about the reception for the first game (which we enjoyed despite some issues) and how it came to be via a planned trilogy of novels that looked for inspiration from classic horror such as Psycho, The Birds, and Rosemary’s Baby.  That project essentially ended up giving birth to the Remothered series we see now, of which, Broken Porcelain is the second entry.

There’s not all that much footage of the upcoming game beyond some intriguing glances at what it’ll contain, which happily, is more Euro-horror movie style and Clock Tower substance. There are promised improvements on the somewhat rough edges found in the original game, including better visuals, real-time cinematics, and refined mechanics for stealth. Darril also cites the horror influences on the game’s characters and environments, which aren’t too far from those original novel plans.

Broken Porcelain continues the story set out in Tormented Fathers. It concerns the intertwined tales of teenage girl Jen, who has been enlisted to serve as a maid in the sinister Ashmann Inn, and fugitive Rosemary Reed, who is still searching for the missing Celeste, with her investigation leading her to the aforementioned Inn. The story will flit between flashbacks and present day, as the mysteries of the Ashmann Inn are unfurled.

Remothered: Broken Porcelain will be coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox One later this year.
