90 Day Fiancé’s Ashley Martson & Jay Smith Sign Divorce Papers

Ashley Martson and Jay Smith, of 90 Day Fiancé, officially signed divorce papers. The two can finally move on from one another and leave fans to concentrate on the new and upcoming couples.

Smith and Martson are now a household name thanks to initially being featured on season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé after the two met while Martson was vacationing in Jamaica. Yet, Martson and Smith’s wedded bliss did not last long as he returned to old habits, cheating on her once he had moved to the United States. The chaotic relationship, as featured on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?led Martson to file for divorce, refusing to change his status of immigration so he could be eligible for a green card. This past July, Smith was arrested and handed over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody, where he sat behind bars for almost a month. He was eventually released and is still awaiting the outcome of his trial.

According to Cheat Sheet, the two have officially signed the divorce papers. Martson recently commented on an Instagram photo that Smith had posted, showing his payment allotment from his job. The Pennsylvania native was quick to comment that she would give her ex two checks if he would just sign the “damn” divorce papers. The reality couple had briefly gotten back together for a second time, but called it quits on October 10.

Smith finally submitted and signed the paperwork needed to complete their divorce. Once again, Martson took to Instagram and shared the good news in her stories, saying it was a good day to start over as a single woman. She acknowledged that the question of the couple’s status was the most asked question, so she wanted to make sure she updated her fans and followers with the good news.

Overall, fans were happy to hear Martson’s good news, but some did joke about how the news really didn’t affect anyone, saying that she was a bit self-absorbed and her 15 minutes of fame were over. Some haters even commented that they remembered a time when marriage was announced, not a long-winded divorce. Meanwhile, Smith has said nothing about the divorce and was seen partying in Las Vegas, where he hung out with friends and a mystery woman. Fans of the TLC show have a new season to look forward to, but as of now, few of the new couples seem to be as exciting as the past season, leading fans to wonder if there may be a happily ever after for all of them.
