This Zara Coat Is a Minimalist’s Dream & It’s Less Than £100

Browsing the Zara sale is one of my favourite pastimes in January. Realistically yes, I should probably save my money (pay day cannot come soon enough, am I right?), but when it’s as tempting as it is right now it’s hard to say no.

It’s also my downfall, though, because more often that not I’ll stumble across non-sale gems that I can’t stop thinking about. Case in point with this Oversized Soft Coat.

Available in three colours (black, grey and beige), it’s shaped to a relaxed fit – as the name suggests – for that on-trend, borrowed-from-your-boyfriend look. Style it with your best jeans, some loafers and some cashmere from one of your favourite knitwear brands and you’ve got a minimalist’s dream outfit.

How to justify treating yourself to a non-discounted item, then? Investing in one of the best winter coats is the smartest move you can make when it’s cold outside; and this Zara one is crafted from imitation-wool – Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) polyester, in fact. So it’s a slightly more environmentally friendly buy, too.

If it’s a wardrobe basic (i.e. something you’re guaranteed to wear a lot, year after year); it’s worth it. If it’s an item that’ll go with everything else in your closet; it’s worth it. If it’s something that looks more expensive than it is; you guessed it, it’s worth it. And this silhouette ticks every box.
