Live Debut of COWBOY CARTER

Earlier this year, Beyoncé embraced her country side for her new album COWBOY CARTER, the follow-up to Renaissance and one of the best projects of 2024. As a victory lap, the pop icon stopped by the Christmas Day matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans for a commanding halftime show performance, where she performed the Cowboy Carter songs live for the first time.

Streamed live on Netflix, the event went down at the NRG Stadium in the singer’s hometown of Houston, Texas. The performance began with Beyoncé entering the stadium on a white mustang similar to the one featured on the cover to COWOY CARTER as she performed “16 CARRIAGES.” What followed was a highly choreographed set featuring a marching band, backing dancers, and guest appearances from several of the collaborators featured on COWBOY CARTER, including Shaboozey, Post Malone, Tiera Kennedy, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, and Reyna Roberts.

The setlist pulled exclusively from Cowboy Carter, including Beyoncé’s covers of The Beatles’ “Blackbird” and Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” along with “YA YA,” “MY HOUSE,” her Post Malone collaboration “LEVII’S JEANS,” and “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM,” which served as the set’s closer.

Immediately following the performance, Beyoncé teased a January 14th, 2025 announcement.

COWBOY CARTER just racked up a whopping 11 Grammy nominations (officially making Beyoncé the most nominated artist in Grammy history). It also served as her latest football-related concert, as she headlined the 2013 Super Bowl Halftime Show and made an appearance during Coldplay’s Super Bowl Halftime show in 2016.

Looking ahead, Kendrick Lamar is set to take charge of the halftime show for Super Bowl LIX, which will go down on Sunday, February 9th.
