It wont just be the diamonds on newly-engaged Selena Gomez‘s marquise diamond ring that catch the light in her household this Christmas, thanks to her instant-glow festive makeup routine.
The Emilia Pérez actor really entered into the season’s spirit of giving by kindly sharing her Christmas makeup look in a newly-uploaded Instagram reel – and best of all, it’s super easy to copy.
The star appears fresh-faced at the beginning of the video, wearing a relaxed vest and jogging bottoms, her huge sparkler from Benny Blanco visible, and begins walking viewers through her pretty down-to-earth routine, using products from her brand Rare Beauty.
She starts by blurring her skin using Rare Beauty’s Positive Light Tinted Moisturiser Foundation as base, giving her instant radiance. She shuns a brush in favour of applying the light-medium coverage with a sponge. We love the idea of using a tinted moisturiser on Christmas Day thanks to its colour-correcting and glowy properties, without feeling heavy – especially on a day when many of us want to feel as comfortable at home as possible.

Next, to add some dimension, Selena dabs on a few dots of bronzer (she uses her Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer) onto her forehead, cheekbones and under her eyebrows – using an angled brush to blend it into the tinted moisturiser and create a sunlit complexion.
Then, to give depth to the look and highlight her cheeks, she applies the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in the shade ‘Hope’ and blends it out on the apples of her cheeks using a doe-foot applicator.
For even more glow, Selena uses the Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter in the shade ‘Flaunt’ to achieve a glass-skin effect, and also dabs a little on her eyelids for an extra festive feel.
Finally, she curls her lashes before applying her Perfect Strokes Universal Volumising Mascara and then dabs a hydrating balm on her lips to keep the makeup look low-key but impactful.
It’s a, thankfully, pretty easy makeup look to replicate ourselves on Christmas Day (or any day for that matter), whether it’s using the Rare Beauty products or just whatever you already have in your makeup bag. The beauty is in the fuss-free but effective application.
